How Artsmix Works: Organisations and Schools

Organisations can either start a conversation thread on the Network with a group or can advertise a general opportunities board. An Arts leaders group will then post a reply to your opportunity, then you can arrange the group more fully. Details on the Network forum use are here.

All the Leaders on the site have undergone the Arts mix leadership training, including leading sessions at schools and are equipped with toolkits and resources to lead activities for 7-14 year old pupils.Arts mix leaders are aged 15 upwards and so they work in teams of three and can only be booked as such. The teams have created profiles on the site and their arts experience and expertise can be found here.

Each leader should be paid £5 per hour and it is up to the organisation whether they charge participants. However we advice that this should be no more than £2 per session .We also recommend that sessions last 1 hour at a time although more than one could run in a day.

We would remind organizations that these students are newly qualified leaders and would request that an Adult is always present on site when activities are taking place and that support is given in encouraging the development of these leaders in their commencement in employment.

The hope is that this network will grow and that we will be able to provide many new affordable arts activities for children of all backgrounds and areas and worthwhile employment for our young people.
